Renewed!
I had a great trip to my Motherland and 2 days after getting back, I moved.
I nearly had a nervous breakdown when I unpacked in our new home, to find that the packers had folded my bolts of fabric in half and crammed them into boxes! Thank God, they didn't do that to all bolts, but some of my finest vintage wool fabrics have to be "brought back" with some manipulation.
Our move was about as smooth as a road full of potholes. But, I still managed to stay inspired and am working on many pieces simultaneously (at the expense of not unpacking all our boxes).
My new Fall 2013 line is scheduled to be launched in February, so stay with me!!
A photo shoot is scheduled for Nov or Dec, and pics should be posted thereafter.

Thoughts
I recently watched a movie that centred around blogging, and I realized that I don't really blog...not "really." So, I am going to try to have an - at the very least - loose regiment on posting my thoughts, ideas, fears, fun with creating MALVAR = STEWART pieces.
My very first entry is more about my philosophy and vision (I hope that if anyone reads this, you enjoy it!):
I love the 40’s and 50’s when people got up in the morning and “dressed up”…they were all like candy to the eye…if I look at old pictures from that era, everyone looks glamourous in a way, and not just the people in magazines or movie stars…now, the common American thinks that to have that glamour, you need to be model thin, beautiful, rich, etc…the look of classic glamour is not as accessible anymore and many fashions that are unique border on the “crafty” side (not to say that’s bad).
I would like my line to offer that glamour to the common person who wants that…to remind them that they don’t have to eat all the candy, rather to “be the candy” hehee (I am corny sometimes)
For the quality and work done here in the USA, I would like to keep it as “affordable” as possible.
My line will reflect the current times of concern about the environment, and concern about the lack of integrity that we see more commonly nowadays, in many cases because of the “time = money” philosophy.
